Workshops

 

We now offer two workshops to the public, to help you develop your psychological skills and self understanding.  The workshops use psychology, neuroscience and psychotherapy techniques to support your learning in an environment that feels safe and facilitative.  

 

We offer two different full day (9.30-5pm) workshops for different circumstances:

 

  • Build Emotional Resilience and Thrive Workshop

Designed for those interested in preventing mental health problems or preventing their recurrence.  This workshop is also suitable for those who are about to experience / have recently had significant life changes (parenthood, retirement, new job, university, significant time away from home / family) and want to be as emotionally prepared as possible.

 

  • Recovering Workshop: Supporting your Recovery from Psychological Difficulties

Suitable difficulties would include anxiety, panic, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, relationship problems, personality issues, physical health problems impacted by stress or psychological factors, including eating disorder, as well as trauma.  Those close to or caring for someone with psychological difficulties are also welcome.  Please contact us if you are unsure.

Build Emotional Resilience and Thrive:

Using psychology and neuroscience to promote mental wellbeing

An innovative full day workshop designed to support your emotional and mental wellbeing.  For those who are interested in preventing mental health problems or preventing their recurrence, this course uses neuroscience, attachment theory, mindfulness and other ideas from effective, evidence based psychological therapies to help you keep yourself well. 

With 1 in 4 of us experiencing mental health problems at any given time, we can't say it won't happen to me! 

The workshop is run by Dr Jessica Bolton, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Accredited Experiental Dynamic Therapy Trainer.  She is highly regarded and has taught 100s of mental health professionals and members of the public over the past 12 years.   She is pasionate about making the science of psychology accessible to all and will take you on an emotionally engaging learning journey.

Recovering: A full day workshop supporting your recovery from psychological difficulties

 

A day workshop supporting recovery from psychological difficulties - see below.  This workshop gives a clear understanding of how psychological difficulties can be maintained and where it can be successful to intervene.  We also will cover how some therapies can fail to help you move forwards.  

 

We will integrate ideas from a range of psychological therapies, as well as neuroscience, interpersonal neurobiology and attachment theory.  

 

This workshop can work well before individual therapeutic work begins or before trying a new therapy.

 

The workshop is run by Dr Jessica Bolton, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Accredited Experiental Dynamic Therapy Trainer.  She is highly regarded and has taught 100s of mental health professionals, clients with mental health difficulties and members of the public.   She is pasionate about making the science of psychology accessible to all and will take you on an emotionally engaging journey. 

 

This workshop is being offered at a reduced price in 2016. 

 

This workshop is suitable for people struggling with a range of difficulties including anxiety, panic, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, relationship problems, personality issues, physical health problems impacted by stress or psychological factors, including eating disorder, as well as trauma.  

 

It is also appropriate for those who are close to or caring for people with psychological difficulties to attend alone or in addition.
