Our training will help you to:

  • Identify the 7 emotional systems in yourself and others
  • Have an increased capacity for dealing with emotions when they arise in your clinics

Surviving the NHS: Increasing emotional intelligence and building resilience

Our training will help you to:

  • Identify and improve the five factors crucial to emotional intelligence: self-awareness, emotional control, self-motivation, empathy and relationship skills. Learn how to make your 10 minute appointment slot more efficient.
  • Spot how the culture of the NHS can lead to burnout, and increase your resilience; providing more connected and attuned care for yourself and your patients

Medically Unexplained Symptoms

Our training will help you to:

  • Understand what MUS is and is not
  • Understand the connection between mind and body in relation to MUS
  • Build skills to ascertain whether your patient’s symptoms have psychological roots
  • Understand your patient’s treatment needs based on your consultation and an assessment of symptom severity

Understanding attachment trauma: Links with Autistic Spectrum Disorders

Our training will help you to:

  • Understand attachment theory and how attachment trauma can impact on patients’ psychological well-being
  • Identify the triad of impairments associated with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
  • Ascertain the similarities and differences between attachment trauma and ASD presentations, and the importance of differentiating the two
  • Understand your patient’s treatment needs based on their underlying presentation; adapt your communication style accordingly; and signpost to appropriate services

The role of mind body practices in supporting patient health and well being

Our training will help you to:

  • Understand how practices such as mindfulness, tai chi and yoga provide a holistic approach to health and well-being
  • Understand the role of attention and breathing in mediating physiological responses
  • Use some short practices for personal use and sign-posting to resources for patients

Understanding chronic trauma: links with ‘personality disorder’ diagnoses and ‘treatment resistance’ labels

Our training will help you to:

  • Identify the cause of these symptoms in your patients
  • Identify factors that keep them stable and that maintain their difficulties
  • Clarify when and how patients can move forwards in their own lives irrespective of mental health care
  • Carefully consider the role of medication – past, present and future
